||| FROM JUSTIN PAULSEN |||
Thank you to our entire community for the opportunity to make connections, hear your thoughts and concerns for San Juan County, and for affording me the chance to be part of those discussions during this election cycle.
I am humbled to have been included among an amazing group of candidates for the past six months, each stepping up in service to the residents of our community. I would especially like to thank Rick Hughes and his campaign for their work throughout this campaign. While we may have different views on some issues, the level of respect and appreciation shown between campaigns has been reassuring. Our community has truly been lifted up through this process.
While the official ballot count is still pending, I am encouraged by the preliminary numbers. I applaud and appreciate the tireless work being done by the staff and volunteers at the San Juan County Elections Office. It is important that they be given the time and space to complete their work so that each and every voter is assured that their choice has been recorded.
I would like to thank each and every resident who was part of the many forums, discussions, and conversations that occurred throughout this process. It has been an incredible opportunity for me to get to meet many of you, and hopefully it is an introduction that will lead to future conversations about how best to serve the County going forward.
The coming term will present many challenges to the County Council, but it also presents us with many opportunities. We must move forward with the best interest of our island community in mind, focused on assuring a path that offers our residents the greatest degree of success.
Thank you again, and I look forward to our continued connections in the future.
