— from Stephanie Conner for Public Works —

This week we see a visible difference down at the Orcas Landing Marine Facility construction site. Contractor, Mike Carlson Enterprises, Inc. (MCE) and crew have hauled out the existing rockery, the viewing area decking, and any other deteriorating structures that don’t belong. Superintendent, Brandon Baney thinks they are about 80% complete with bedrock removal for the Main Wall, and that next week should see the arrival of the modular blocks for our new walls.

Utility coordination is on-going and could not be accomplished without the tireless efforts of OPALCO, RockIsland, Orcas Landing Inc., Ron Rebman of Orcas Village Store and our contractor, Mike Carlson Enterprises Inc. San Juan County is grateful for all their strategizing and teamwork.

And thanks to everyone for tolerating the construction at Orcas Landing. For more information about this project visit our website at: www.sanjuanco.com/278/Current-Projects
