The Orcas Writers Festival, at the start of its second year, has extended the deadline for Early Bird Registration to June 13. Festival registration is available at www.orcasislandwritersfestival.com.

The festival will be held Sept. 17 to 20, 2009. This year, most festival events will be held in Eastsound.

Festival Package participants begin the day with workshops, followed by afternoon classes or seminars. Evening events will be held at the Orcas Center.

Three-Day and One-Day Festival Admission participants may enroll in classes and attend seminars (but not critique workshops) and join us at evening events.

Individual tickets will also be sold for evening events at the Orcas Center.

Early Bird price reductions apply for the following events:

Festival Package: $365 [$335 Early Birds]
Includes one three-day workshop, classes, seminars and evening events. Sign-up for classes is recommended.

Festival Three-Day Admission Ticket: $165 [$125 Early Birds]
Includes classes, seminars and evening events. Sign-up for classes is recommended.
Festival One-Day Admission Ticket: $65 [$50 Early Birds]
Register for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Includes classes, seminars and evening events for the day of admission. Sign-up for classes is recommended.

Pre-Festival Kid Lit Critiques Workshop: $65 [$50 Early Birds]

Gourmet Lunches: $14 Friday, $14 Saturday (Must pre-order by September 10)
Gourmet lunches are prepared by  Island Chef, Bill Patterson, using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. A vegetarian option will be available.

Sunday Farewell Dinner with Authors: $28 (Sunday)
Festival participants are welcome to join the festival faculty for a special farewell dinner, prepared by Island Chef Bill Patterson. A vegetarian option will be available.
