This is their return to the island this morning after winning the state championship last night…

Orcas Vikings Are State Soccer Champions!

After a slow start, the Orcas Island Vikings soccer team fought back to tie the match with Providence Christian at 1-1 at the end of regulation. After two scoreless 5 minute overtimes the Vikings won it all in a shootout, outscoring their opponent 4 to 3 to win the state championship!

Welcome them home on Sunday morning!

Sunday morning the Orcas community is invited to “Welcome the State Champs home!” Be at Darvill’s at 8:30 am Sunday to celebrate the #1 soccer team in the state as they roll in to Eastsound!!! They will be on the 7:30 am boat in the morning – come cheer them HOME!!!

I don’t recognize #14 in the top picture, though I wash that jersey a lot. Different year? CONGRATULATIONS VIKINGS!
