The Orcas Island School District/Readiness to Learn (RTL) and the Orcas Island Prevention Partnership (OIPP) Community Coalition invite all parents to attend a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23 to talk about “Safe School Relationships.”

Building on  Parent Meetings last fall, at which the many forms of “bullying” were brought up – from playground behavior to Internet cliques to dating and personal relationships – the meeting will break out into three groupings under the topics of:

1)    Kindergarten through 5th grade – Assertiveness and Bullying, facilitated by Elementary School Counselor and RTL Family Support Specialist Sandi Burt.

2)    6th through 8th grades — Cyber-bullying and Internet Safety, facilitated by Computer Applications teacher Paul Evans and Superintendent/Principal Barbara Kline

3)    9th through 12th grades – Healthy  Relationships, facilitated by Laura Trevellyan, Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services Youth Advocate and Julie Pinardi, Middle/High School RTL Family Support Specialist and Point Blank Club Advisor
