||| FROM THE ORCAS ISLAND LIT FEST |||
After a two-year pandemic hiatus, the Orcas Island Lit Fest is returning this June 3 – 4. Authors and panel topics are currently being finalized, and the popular Friday night Lit Walk has expanded to six venues. The Orcas Center will again be host for the Saturday sessions along with Darvill’s Bookstore handling all things bookish.
Like many nonprofits, the OILF team has operated on a shoestring, and we are grateful that most of our authors and artists pay their own way. However, we do our best to find places to stay for our headliners, and we are now seeking lodging donations for a handful of critically acclaimed and beloved regional and national authors. Housing gifts are especially helpful in our efforts to host early-career writers and writers of color who might otherwise be priced out of contributing to the literary conversation on Orcas. Help us succeed in bringing a world-class literary festival to Orcas Island by donating your guesthouse or short-term rental. Housing donors become festival sponsors, receiving recognition on our website along with event passes.

We look forward to joining you for two days of panels, readings, and events that highlight the vibrant literary culture of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. It’s an opportunity to engage with celebrated writers as well as local and regional artists and musicians in an intimate, inclusive setting that welcomes everyone who loves books.
