Monday, April 23, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Orcas Public Library
Managing a business requires a comprehensive understanding of your business strategy, operations, financial condition, and future directions.
The Orcas Public Library will provide a one-hour introduction to the course, “Business Basics,” and show how the information can be used to start or grow a business. The Course has over 20 modules in three main areas: finance, management and marketing. Each area has with multiple course sessions. The library will partner for SmallBizU with Key Bank’s Carmen Marttila and Candace Bodenhamer (from our local branch).
The online self-study program SmallBizU© was created especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs. It delivers a no-frills, utilitarian curriculum that provides small businesses with real-world tools and information. Inside, you’ll find 20 core classes encompassing over 3,500 animated slides and 350 tools and resources contained in a comprehensive knowledge base.
There is no charge and the class is open to everyone, regardless of the financial institutions you use.
This is the first event that kicks off Money Smart Week at the Orcas Public Library. There will be 17 classes that week on a variety of financial topics, but the SmallBizU will only be used at this introductory session. CDs will be distributed with the course work.
The Library will be providing a link to the course so that anyone can use it, whether they attend the class or not. For further information, call the Library at 376-4985 or visit the website www.orcaslibrary.org/msw.html
