— from Kyle Freeman for Orcas School District —
For this year’s graduating class, the COVID-19 outbreak has meant the cancellation of our traditional graduation celebrations and ceremonies. However, we are committed to ensuring that the Orcas Island High School class of 2020 is celebrated and honored as only our community can do.
While this year’s graduation will be different, it is important to note that graduation is about more than walking across the stage to collect a diploma. On Orcas Island graduation is a celebration of academic and personal achievement, it marks the beginning of the next phase of life for our graduates and it is always a celebration of family and community.
We invite our students, staff, families, and community to celebrate the Class of 2020 in the coming weeks leading up to their graduation. Thanks to the amazing partnership between our school, our senior parents, and our community we are excited to share the following celebrations that will be taking place and invite you to join us in celebrating these amazing young men and women.
Grad-O-Grams
All members of the Orcas Island community (both near and far), family, friends and graduates are invited to share a message with any and all of our graduating seniors. Your note will be printed on a keepsake page for the graduate. Simply click/follow this link and fill out our form.
