In preparation for the upcomingNovember election (Ballots will be mailed to County residents by Oct. 22,) the LWV-SJ and Orcas PTSA are jointly sponsoring an election forum on Monday, Oct. 14 at the Eastsound Fire Hall.

The forum begins at 5:30 p.m. with the County Charter Amendment Proposition. Steve Bowman of the LWV-SJ will moderate. There will be speakers for and against the proposition, created by ordinance of the San Juan County Council. It says:

The Orcas PTSA will conduct the Orcas Island School District (OISD) part of the forum, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The unopposed candidates, Scott Lancaster and Chris Sutton will be introduced and deliver their respective statements. Moderator Cathy Faulkner will direct the forum with Tony Ghazel, school board incumbent, and Justin Paulsen, challenger for that position on the School Board of Directors.
