Friday, September 6, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Orcas Center

— from Kathleen Youngren —

Can’t wait to see where Marcia’s creative talent has taken her now? Don’t miss her exhibit at Orcas Center throughout the month of September.
Orcas artist Marcia Spees is known for her exquisite, realistic watercolors but for the last few years has endured an artistic dry spell in which she struggled with the frustration of feeling stuck and type-cast by her prior work. Recently she has pushed the bounds of creative expression with a breakthrough exploration of abstraction.

Marcia’s exhibit marks the public debut of this new level in her artistic evolution. She is excited to share her fresh perspective of “seeing shapes not things and exploring the fundamental harmonies beneath the obvious”.
Marcia’s work will fill the O.C. lobby. The Madrona Room will display Orcas Community Art, work from all interested local artists. (Questions call Kathy Youngren 360 376 4649) Art will be received and hung on Sept 4, 10:00 to 2:00

Please join Marcia, the Orcas Center Visual Arts Committee and participating local artists for the local reception on Friday, September 6, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Marcia will present her work at 6 p.m.
