The Visual Arts Committee (VAC) of Orcas Center is planning art installations for the 2024 season and is pleased to welcome back Featured Artist Exhibits.
Featured Artists at Orcas Center have dedicated displays in the lobby and/or Madrona Room (depending on scope of work, or if there are multiple artists exhibiting together), and give either a demonstration or presentation during the art opening event. Full marketing for the event and exhibit include press releases, social media posts, as well as regular mentions in the weekly Orcas Center newsletter. All mediums are welcome – Painting, Pottery, Mixed-Media, Printmaking, Photography, Metalwork, Watercolor, Sculpture, Drawing, and whatever else comes to mind!
To be considered as a featured artist, please submit a digital portfolio (minimum 3-5 images), artistic resume and/or statement VAC@OrcasCenter.org by October 31st, 2023. Applicants will be juried by the VAC, who may then request to see work in person – either by traveling to your studio, or having you bring selected work to Orcas Center for review.
Please note: There will also be a number of “Community Shows” open to artists of all skill levels and mediums in 2024. For this particular call, we are seeking artists who have a portfolio for a featured show, and currently live and work on Orcas.
