This August 11th – 13th colorful koi fish flags will guide locals and tourists down country roads and private driveways to the studios of 43 working island artists participating in this years Artist Open Studio Tour.
This free, self-guided tour of working artists studios happens each year in August and provides once a year access into the intimate, creative, and highly personal spaces and processes of these local treasures.
The tour runs 3 days starting Friday, August 11 through Sunday August 13. Studios are open daily from 11 am – 5 pm for demonstrations and the opportunity to purchase local art directly from the artists, many of whom create new work specifically for this yearly event.
This year features more artists than ever before, including 18 ceramicists, 16 painters, sculptures in handmade paper, wood, stone, and bronze, as well as jewelry, and fine art photography.
New this year are curated routes that lead you on a guided exploration of a handful of studios, based around geography or medium. These curated routes and a full studio tour map are available on our website www.orcasartiststudiotour.com. Brochures are also available at the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce.

There’s a typo in the link for the studio tour. The article has omitted the ‘T; after the last ‘S’. It should be http://www.orcasartiststudiotour.com.
