A 2016 OHS graduate, Anthony Kaskurs, has been chosen as the recipient of the Freshman Class Award at Gonzaga University in Spokane WA.
He was among the honorees on Tuesday, Apr. 25 at the school’s Academic Honors Convocation. The Academic Honors Convocation is an annual event, celebrating faculty and student excellence. He was among 15 fellow students and 10 faculty recognized with awards at the event.
He was selected from among 1280 freshmen on the campus by the Registrar and faculty for his outstanding grade point average, coupled with his heavy credit load.
Kaskurs was the recipient of many local scholarships last year, and his family credits the Orcas school and community in support of his achievement.
Kaskurs is majoring in Business and Computer Science.
