The annual Halloween Dance at the Odd Fellows Hall is this Saturday, October 31st, at 8 pm.
All proceeds from the dance go to benefit the Odd Fellows Scholarship fund.
The dance will feature Orcas bands The Orcas Horns and Island Roots Collective.  The music will be and infectious danceable blend of world beat, funk, soul, hip-hop and rock rhythms.
On a second stage, music will also be provided by with DJs Bruce Pavitt and Charly.  Video DJ Jyoti has prepared an exotic scary mix of pictures and video that will be projected on the halls movie screen.
A free monster movie will be shown before the dance, starting at 6:15 pm.  The movie will be “Forbidden Planet”, a Sci-Fi classic featuring a young Leslie Nielsen, with special effects by Disney, and a script based on Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”.  It is a campy 50’s space story with a robot, flying saucer, monsters form the “Id” and an alien planet.  Fun for the whole family.

The Odd Fellows will be raffling off a cord of firewood. Raffle tickets will be available at the dance, and the winner will be announced there at 10 p.m.  A variety of prizes will also be given for best costumes.

Mai Lan’s Cafe will be cooking down in the kitchen all day.
