Born: Brawley California, September 24, 1960

Died: San Luis Obispo, California Wednedsday June 12, 2013

Dan was raised and schooled in San Luis Obispo. He attended Sinsheimer Elementary and San Luis Obispo Junior and Senior High, Class of 1978.

In the early 80’s he followed his childhood friends the Bullock Brothers to Orcas Island Washington where he resided for the next 20 years.

Dan was an avid horticulturist, he grew beautiful flowers and vegetables and knew his trees like the back of his hand.

He was a avid reader and was self taught on a wide range of subjects.

As an adult he traveled extensively through Central and South America and later in Europe.

Dan had been ill about a year and a half and was recently diagnosed with entamoeba histolytica from Amazon River water. Becoming desperately ill he came home to San Luis Obispo to be with his mother where he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis to the liver and brain. He lived the next 9 weeks in his boyhood home. In his final weeks he was attended by his friend of 47 years, David Coull. The family was at his bedside in the family living room at 7:30 Wednesday morning when he took his final breaths.

Preceeding Dan in death were his paternal grandparents Tresa and Alanso Page

  • His father Hubert Eugene Page

Surviving him are his daughter Jasmin Luna Page Sandoval of Trujillo, Peru

  • His brother David Starr Page of Eastsound, Washington
  • His mother Shirley Ellen Selkirk of San Luis Obispo, California
  • His stepfather George Bruce Selkirk of San Luis Obispo, California
  • His aunt Eleanor Starr of San Luis Obispo, California
  • Many cousins and friends

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Central Coast Hospice without who’s generous care and support Dans passing at home would not have been possible..
