||| FROM BETHANY MARIE for ORCAS CENTER |||
Noah Racey is one of Broadway’s top song-and-tap dance men, but his story is anything but 42nd Street. The rhythm of his life was set by drum circles in a commune in the Pacific Northwest where his woke and pioneering parents raised their kids. All that freedom gave Noah and his sisters permission to do, say and be what they want – but free love has unintended consequences when children are around.
Using the humor and charm he honed on Broadway, (not to mention his astonishing tap dancing!) Noah has created a one-of-a-kind experience while in residency for the past week at Orcas Center. Joining him in this production is Dick Scanlan ia writer/director who’s worked on Broadway and around the world, including the book and lyrics to the Tony Award winning musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ross Patterson who has been the arranger, musical director and band leader for the critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year concert series at The Town Hall for the past 21 years, and Jason Yudoff who has played cajon at Carnegie Hall, congas for President George W. Bush, and timbales on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
This cadre of high-caliber performers will deliver a unique theatrical experience for three performances only: March 31 and April 1 at 7pm, and April 2 at 2pm. Ticket prices range from $15-59. Masking is encouraged in the theatre, but no longer required.
