Let’s hope that WA doesn’t allow something like this “data center alley” to appear in our state. One way to prevent it is to stop giving data-center tax breaks to multi-trillion dollar companies like Amazon and Microsoft, which are already making obscene profits. And we are beginning to see the impacts of that policy in our OPALCO electricity rates, which rose 6% this year, twice the inflation rate. Think of it as an AI tax.
