A workshop to apply systems thinking to transform organizations, communities and individuals will be given on Saturday, Oct. 16, sponsored by Leadership San Juan islands and the San Juan Island Prevention Coalition.
What is a system? What is systems thinking? How can systems thinking help me? are questions that will be addressed at the workshop between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Friday Harbor House (San Juan Room). The $35 cost includes workshop materials, a continental breakfast and a hot lunch. In the workshop, instructed by Dr. Colleen Ponto, Ed.D., participants will gain tools to become more effective and save time and aggravation by learning to
- develop deeoper understanding of complex issues
- better understand recurring issues
- identify leverage points for systemic organizational change
Dr. Ponto teaches at Seattle University where she is a core faculty member of the Organization Systems Renewal Graduate Program.
