This Saturday, Apr. 29, the Orcas Montessori School (OMS) Under the Sea Celebration and Spring Auction opens its doors at 6 p.m. at Random Howse in Eastsound. You can expect wonderful food, drinks, music, and a great assortment of silent and live auction items.
Adventure and travel include six nights at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Old World Luxury Beach Resort at Cabo San Lucas, trail ride adventure on Orcas Island Icelandic Horse, a week of day camp at Camp Orkila, kayaking, whale watching, sail boat day cruise for two on the Spike Africa Sail Boat, whale watching with Deer Harbor Charters, and a sunset sailing cruise on Kruger Escapes. For the kids, there are 10 child swim passes for Orcas Athletic Pool, Story Telling at a birthday party or event by Antoinette Botsford, and 12 passes to A Place to Play in Friday Harbor.
There are many great options in fine dining and food including dinners at Rosario Mansion resort, Deer Harbor Inn, Red Rabbit Farm, and a tasting menu at Hogstone’s Wood Oven. A homemade berry pie, a gift basket from Girl Meets Dirt, or a gift certificate from the Orcas Village Store will also delight the taste buds.
Each year parents and local businesses donate practical items, home and health services that we all need and use: five yards of gravel, vegetable compost, fruit tree consultation, training and pruning, six yards of wood chips, massages, three one-hour personal training sessions, acupuncture, appliance diagnostics and repair, handyman services, a portrait photography session, two days of doggie pet care, diving service, and more.
A one of a kind, handcrafted, locally milled Maple Table and four chairs are stunning and will transform your dining room. Other great art, jewelry, and gift baskets from local businesses offer many choices for your bidding.
Tickets are $45 and still available at Darvills or on-line at www.orcasmontessori.org and may be purchased at the door.
