Mikaela Hansen, Orcas High School Senior, will offer a benefit concert on May 23 for Orcas Schools’ education programs.

The concert, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Orcas Grange, is called “Honoring Our Mentors,” showcasing the talents and stories of many local mentors, teachers, and their students. This is Mikaela’s senior project.

Next year she plans to attend Western Washington University “in the hopes of processing a profession that helps others; possibly education.

“I hope to incorporate music somehow as well. I have been accepted into an honors scholars leadership program for freshman that only 20 students get to be apart of.

I’m excited to be apart of this new community and come back to Orcas to give back to mine.”

Come listen to some wonderful songs and stories of Susan Osborn, Carolyn Cruso, Ron Myers, Corey Wiscomb, Eliott Claus, Almost Classical, Maurice Austin, Madi Jane West, Cassidy and her dance crew, and the Orcas High School Band and Orchestra.

Come on out and support your community!
