||| FROM DIANNE MACONDRAY for SJC MASTER GARDENERS |||
As the snow subsides, I feel we gardeners are ready for spring and warmer weather. If that’s the case, be sure to check out the San Juan County Master Gardener website mgfsjcshop.org beginning January 28. That will be the date you can begin ordering Natives for your garden.
Besides the Natives we’ve provided in past years there are a number of different varieties, with photos and descriptions, that will be available.
In addition Salish Seeds is offering small pots of natives and bags of camas bulbs for purchase. You will be able to place your orders and MUST purchase online from January 28 through March 11.
We will have a pick up spot for your orders on Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan Island on Saturday March 19.

For those who don’t know, Salish Seeds is a joint project between the San Juan County Conservation Land Bank and the San Juan Preservation Trust. At the Salish Seeds Nursery on San Juan Island, hyper-local native plants including wildflowers and grasses are grown to help support restoration efforts throughout the islands.
