Manon embraces her protector: "All my sins will shortly be forgotten, but my love shall never die."

Sunday April 8 at 2 p.m. at the Orcas Center

The Met: Live in HD bring Massenet’s Manon Lescaut  to Orcas opera-lovers this Sunday, with Anna Netrebko starring in the title, tragic role.

“The great and glamorous Anna Netrebko makes Manon her own… With her rich, gleaming sound and vocal charisma, she is a Manon of rare intensity and emotional depth” (The New York Times).

This is a Metropolitan Opera co-production and was a sensational hit when it opened at Covent Garden in 2010 with Netrebko in the title role.

Tony Award-winning Brazilian baritone Paulo Szot (South Pacific) returns to the Met in the role of Lescaut, Manon’s cousin and protector

Fabio Luisi conducts Laurent Pelly’s elegant new production of Massenet’s romantic opera.
