Good Morning from Orcas Island by Bruce Hanna
Moist air, diverse landforms,
ocean proximity, sun moving left-to-right,
prevailing wind right-to-left…
All this gives music,
a dynamic symphony of shadow, reflection, and texture
to the water and sky and land.
Look closely at the water surface.
Reflection of land,
thousands of surface ripples from the wind,
clouds reflected, and sky!
See how the faraway land is hugged by moist air,
fog, mist so the image is all of these: land, air, water, light,…
Watch the clouds dance, reform, dissipate, move,
cast shadows, reflect the easterly morning sun.
And the sky— Imagine the moon
we saw in the same space last night —
240,000 miles away, but intimate and soothing,
casting a sweet mood of light on the scene.
I am one with Nature for these moments —
totally enraptured. Good morning, Orcas!

Bruce doesn’t really look like he could write something so beautiful, not saying he’s not good looking, but not as pretty as his poetry. Thanks for the beauty and the uplifting, positive writing.good end to a busy day! Other Bruce
