“Play ball!”

Many think that’s the final phrase of the National Anthem, and the season to see youngsters out on the fields playing the national sport, begins this weekend with Tryouts and Registration for Orcas Island Little League on the fields behind the High School. Players should turn out on the fields starting at 10 a.m.

Registrations must be received by April 1st to be assured an opportunity
to play.

All kids registered by April 1st will have a chance to play, but tryouts are important.  Tryouts allow the coaches to match players to teams that will offer challenge and help develop new skills and confidence.

If you skip tryouts, you will be placed on the lowest skill level for your age group to assure your safety. Registration forms are available at the school offices and should be dropped off at the Archipelago Survey office on Madrona one block south (towards the Public Library) of the public school.

Season Fees are $60 Minors, Majors, Juniors and Softball
$50 for T-Ball (no tryouts necessary for T-ball, but registration is required.)

Some partial scholarships and/or arrangements for parent involvement in lieu of partial tuition will be available.

Orcas Island Little League is an all volunteer effort dedicated to supporting our children in learning new skills, developing good sportsmanship and having a great time.

Please come volunteer (coach, bar-b-que, line up teams, help register, cheer on the players, or whatever your interest/talent). Join the fun.  Contact Pat Hunt for details at 376-2810.
