–– from Phil and Marta Branch —
We members of the OPALCO electric coop are fortunate that retired General Manager Randy Cornelius stands willing to volunteer for the OPALCO Board, to help us enjoy a safe, satisfying and productive future in the San Juans.
He started his career as a lineman and worked his way to the top. No one knows all the aspects of OPALCO as well as Randy. He was our GM for more than a decade.
Some OPALCO employees agree that he looked after the best interests of both members and employees. Randy is a team player with a can-do attitude. We need his experience, his acumen, and his vision to help secure our future excellence in electric service and fast 21st century communications.
He will make an outstanding member of the OPALCO Board. Vote for Randy.

Phil and Marta, Based on the recent actions by Opalco, which were recommended by Randy as the general manager. It is not by accident that organizations always have new stuff that we are forced to pay for while we are more prudent as individuals. When Doug Bechtel left we had 39 full time employees. Under Randy’s watch we have double. We also traded in our Plymouth for a Cadillac. This is all in the name of “deferred maintance”. Don’t be fooled. Randy spent us into serious debt and got the board to drink the Kool Aid.
