— from Carol Owens —
The mayoral race is hotly contested this year!  Have you done your duty? Voted often , bought as many votes as you can?
Personally, my favorite mayor was April; who, though of the bovine persuasion, wasted no time chewing her cud when it came time for tough decisions: what should be the theme for the 4th of July parade?  Should we allow canines in the Solstice parade? (April loved parades because they always started next to her pasture. )
Now, seriously folks, it’s time for a female mayor again. And Granny converses in both cetacean and international sign language as well as ESP.
She has raised many young’uns, teaching them to respect the Salish Sea, so she is obviously alert to issues that concern all orcas and Orcasians.
There are those who want to make age an issue in this race. Granny refuses to stoop
so low; she refuses to comment on all the others’ youth and inexperience. She is every inch a lady– and that’s a lot of lady!
Remember, vote early and often!
