This Tuesday, August 11 at 3pm, you can tune in online to the Lopez Huddle group’s candidate Q&A with the top two contenders for the San Juan County Council District 1 seat: Ryan Palmateer and Christine Minney.
Here is the Zoom link to tune into the Huddle meeting with Ryan and Christine.

These are both good candidates. My personal opinion is that Ryan is the perfect person for the job at this time. I’ve worked with Ryan over the last few years in several capacities:

  • the Cool School Challenge through the SJIs Conservation District, where Ryan works as the Energy Program Manager;
  • SJIs Electric Vehicle Assn, where he serves as president;
  • SJIs Energy Roundtable
  • SJC Democrats, where he serves as secretary; and
  • SJC Democrats’ platform committee.

I believe Ryan has the right kind of experience, energy and vision for the job at this time, especially when we’re trying to figure out how to make the San Juans as environmentally sustainable and self-sustaining as possible. Ryan is all about renewable energy, energy efficiency and all-around sustainability. He has great energy, is a really fun person to work with, and I believe he is what our county government needs now, and so I very much hope we can elect him this November.

The Lopez Huddle meeting goes from 3-5. I hope you can listen to the whole Q&A with the District 1 SJCC candidates, as we all will be voting for one of them when we send in our ballots this October/November.
