Dear Editor,

Thank you for your recent article on the Orcas Island Food Bank Hospitality. However, we seemed to have had a miscommunication and for this I am sorry. Gypsy Willow Catering is only a very small part of a large community cooperation to make this program thrive. Each volunteer has donated time and their own money to support this new event.   The generous spirit of Orcas has been a driving force for all of us volunteers. Barbra Griffin and Lion [Schoenes] have been dedicated and zealous contributors. Gerry Baker has not only been the backbone of moral support and enthusiasm but has donated significantly to expenses. Orcas Island Community Church has been our inspiration and support from the very beginning. The encouragement we have received from the Pastors is only outshone by the heartwarming visits of their wives.

Barbra Griffin is currently in charge of organizing other volunteer groups that would like to participate in this wonderful way to give back to the community. Barb and Gerry have given their time and talent unceasingly and with inspiring enthusiasm.

We look forward to sharing our love of food with our community and sharing this beautiful opportunity to those that join us for lunch and those that join us making it. Thank you again for featuring this project and helping us say thank you to all those who have so selflessly given their time and talents, and to say thank you for those that participate in the program so that we have this opportunity to serve our community.

Sincerely,

Melloni
Gypsy Willow Catering
