I am pleased to support Kari McVeigh for San Juan County Council. When Kari first announced her candidacy, she worked tirelessly to understand the issues in our community from the ground up. She set up meetings with key stakeholders from non-profits, educators, governmental officials, county staff, business leaders, and citizens. She listened and asked insightful questions.
Throughout our conversation, I was impressed with her diligence in understanding important issues from all perspectives. Our community needs Kari’s leadership to effectively manage our county. Her ability to make informed decisions on important topics from affordable housing to ferries to budgets are based on a systematic approach of understanding the issue thoroughly, inclusive communication with key stakeholders and prioritizing the values of the entire community.
Our community is very fractionalized. In office, Kari will begin the difficult work of mending bridges through meaningful community engagement so our County will once again be united.
