||| FROM STEPHANIE O’DAY |||

Thank you so much for your love and support through this difficult campaign. Each and every one of you worked hard towards our goal of making some changes in government to be more supportive of the working families who are the engine we need to hold our community together.

Through my campaign, I hope I’ve brought attention to the following issues:

  1. The permitting disconnect at the Department of Community Development which has caused landowners hundreds of thousands of dollars of unnecessary expenses and delays.
  2. The need to immediately loosen county regulations on accessory dwelling units to provide more housing for moderate-income families.
  3. The dire need for the community to come together to find a solution to the daycare crisis on San Juan Island.
  4. The need to recognize that the land bank should modify its mission slightly to accommodate the needs of the people of this community. One-third of the community voted against the Land Bank. That should send a message to the Land Bank Board. They have the tools to spread those funds more appropriately.

I wish the County and the new management well. There are many hills to climb to get us back on track. Thanks again for all your help.
