It was with great joy I learned that Patrick Shepler has put himself forward for fire commissioner of Orcas Fire Dept. And from what I have been hearing around the island, we need a man of Patrick’s exceptional skill set.
In years gone by, I have worked with Patrick on many a dark and stormy night and have felt honored to be around a man with so much compassion for the sick or injured and the technical skills to make a bad situation better. Patrick has a way of seeing through the fog of confusion that is hard to explain, but when you are there, you know he is absolutely authentic in his caring and his need to help others.
It would behoove us to put the best people in place to make decisions; to my mind the best person for fire commissioner is Patrick Shepler.
