Letter to Editor | Paulsen is an advocate for affordable housing

Our community is in a period of massive transition, and it is vital that we elect county council candidates who are committed to enriching the lives of people who live and work in the islands. 

The members of Orcas Tenants United believe that the best candidate to lead us into a more equitable, liveable future is Justin Paulsen, and we are excited to endorse him for the Seat #2 position in the upcoming election. Justin has proven himself as an advocate for working class people and the housing insecure. He really listens to the issues, and answers with honesty and humanity, a rare trait to find in a candidate running for office. 

Justin has been involved building affordable housing for many years, and has a firm understanding of the challenges of creating an equitable housing ecosystem. We look forward to working with Justin, sharing the experiences and struggles of tenants on the Islands, and working towards goals that benefit tenants and disrupt the status quo that has kept so many of us in unsafe, unstable, unaffordable housing.

We hope that you will join us in voting for Justin in a couple weeks, and that we can work together to build a better community for folks of all ages, income levels, housing status, immigration status, and backgrounds.
