I support Stephanie O’Day for San Juan County Council, Position 1, because of her responsiveness and commitment to addressing life and safety concerns for residents and visitors of the outer islands.

The Decatur Emergency Brigade has raised issues about policy changes made without public notice that significantly increase the risks for those on islands beyond the main ones. Stephanie’s deep understanding of the county’s organization, her knowledge of the county charter, and her experience on charter review commissions uniquely qualify her to tackle these challenges.

Her expertise with the county charter and code allows her to identify opportunities for improving the county’s structure. Stephanie brings a broad, county-wide perspective, including the 120+ outer islands that lack fire and EMS services. Her leadership focuses on both efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring that policies serve the whole county, while balancing the big picture with crucial details.
