Letter to Editor | O’Day exhibits good planning, common sense

We are writing in support of Stephanie O’Day for San Juan County Council District 1 Commissioner. Stephanie has the right background to address the difficult challenges of permitting, housing, environmental protection and budgeting within the context of our Island lifestyle and institutions. Unlike her opponent, Stephanie has 33 years’ experience running a private, professional practice where common sense and good planning are necessary for success, without the option of running to the feeding trough of levies and higher taxes.

In order to have a healthy, balanced community we must have people on the County Council that nurture small businesses and promote laws that produce jobs, housing and day care for middle-class families. Stephanie raised a family on this Island, understands these issues and has specific ideas of how to tackle these problems.

We particularly like her clear, no nonsense stand on these important issues. It is our hope that you will be voting for Stephanie O’ Day for Commissioner.
