Kiwanis wishes to THANK all who participated in our yard sale at the American Legion Parking lot last Saturday. We did our best to make it a safe day as did all of you.
Everyone was very considerate of their fellow shoppers. We had a very successful fundraiser which insures funds for scholarships and other projects for the coming year.
We have been so successful in our fundraisers because many nonmembers of the club are so willing to help. They are so appreciated.
Kiwanis has been a valuable asset to Orcas Youth programs for 30 years It is rewarding and well worth the time many have given Kiwanis is an international organization with motto “making the world a better place one child at a time “
Our efforts to introduce others to what Kiwanis stands for and to recruit new members fell short of what we need to continue. Without new members stepping up the following will be discontinued:
- Contributions to Children’s House
- Kaleidoscope
- Montessori
- Camp Orkila
- Fun House
- Summer reading program
- Economic development Voc-Tec training
- Leadership sponsorship
- Graduating senior scholarship
- and many many more youth oriented objectives
