I’m voting for Jennifer Swanson and I hope you do too. County Council members represent islanders county-wide and must serve them well. Where the candidate lives helps define their character. Swanson lives on Shaw Island. With that, Swanson recognizes the central values we share of self-reliance, the ability to listen and understand concerns of others, and a willingness to travel talk to people in person.
Swanson knows that in the next four years will require coordination with other elected officials. Swanson will look for practical, long-term, solutions to address financial difficulties, deal with core functions of the county council such as land use, roads, ferries, docks, public safety, recreation, and health care and more.
Swanson has shown she will listen to the voices on Orcas and Waldron as well as those on San Juan and the outer Islands. And of course, she is in tune with the interests of those on Shaw and Lopez. Vote Swanson for all of San Juan County.
