What does it mean to belong? To a place, a community, a family—or simply to ourselves?
Join the Orcas Island Public Library on Thursday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. for Belonging, an evening of readings and conversation exploring one of the most universal—and deeply personal—aspects of the human experience.
Through five distinct voices and perspectives, writers A. Molotkov, Chrys Buckley, Gail Folkins, John Fadely, and Veronica Kornberg explore the many meanings of belonging. An émigré reinvents himself, a woman with blindness confronts what it means to see and be seen, a career man adjusts to a quieter life, a woman discovers her place while caring for the natural world, and young girls find the courage to be true to themselves.
Together, these stories invite us to reflect on identity, reinvention, connection, and the many ways we find our place in an ever-changing world.
The evening will be moderated by Jill McCabe Johnson and will include an opportunity for conversation with the writers.
The event is free and open to the public. Join us for an evening of thoughtful storytelling, fresh perspectives, and community connection.
