I would like to express my strong support to re-elect Commissioner Wes Heinmiller for the Orcas Island Fire & Rescue Board of Fire Commissioners, District #2. (OIFR BOFC).
Over the years, Wes has been a steady and reliable presence on the OIFR BOFC. He has led OIFR through a series of organizational changes while maintaining a calm and balanced perspective. Wes brings with him a long personal history to Orcas and his business acumen compliments the skills of the other four Commissioners. Together, they are a high functioning Board focused on the essential elements of providing governance and setting policy.
Wes’ previous election to the Board has contributed to moving OIFR to a more advanced and highly skilled emergency fire & medical services organization. There remains work to be done and the Department will benefit from retaining Wes and his six years of proven leadership. I have every confidence that Wes will continue to serve all members of OIFR, the volunteers, and our community well.
