Letter to Editor | I encourage all my friends to vote for Justin Paulsen

Those of us who have grown up in San Juan County over the past several decades, have seen the changes in our community and the increase in the challenges that we face. As a San Juan Islander who has returned with my family to operate a small, but necessary veterinary practice, I am more aware than ever of the pressures that we face. I see, daily, the hard work and dedication that is required by our farming community to maintain our county’s agricultural traditions. As a business owner, I know the impacts that issues like cost of living and ferries have on achieving success for small businesses like mine – especially those which depend on interisland transport.

Through my business, I have been fortunate to work and meet with Justin Paulsen. Justin’s work at the state and local level on behalf of our community has brought significant attention and resources to San Juan County. I know Justin and his family to be active and engaged members of our agricultural community and supporters of 4H. They have dedicated their service to organizations that support and uplift working families across our entire county.

Based on my experiences and the experiences of those I know and trust, I encourage all of my friends on every island to join me in voting Justin Paulsen for the District #2 Council Representative for San Juan County.
