||| FROM DARRELL KIRK |||
Our family visited the North Shore Preserve today and we met several people along the trail including a gentleman who was showing off the preserve to friends from out of town. Upon meeting this group, it occurred to me how important the Land Bank is to Orcas Island Residents, and especially to those who do not live on the island.
People from all over the world dream of visiting Orcas Island one day, or to return after years, decades, or a lifetime ago. What an honor it is to steward the various Land Bank locations throughout Orcas Island for islanders and our guests from around the country who long for the beauty and grandeur of this notable destination.
Everyone I meet on the island, or throughout Washington State has an Orcas Island story it seems, and voting to preserve the Land Bank will ensure a priceless legacy going forward for our families and guests from Washington State and around the world.
