It was gratifying to see so many Orcas islanders voting to back our fire, rescue and EMT service. This demonstrated confidence in a prudently formulated and fiscally sound levy lift proposal that addressed your concerns and ideas.
The positive vote will serve to effectively fund the department’s operation by staff and volunteers as they continue to provide the needed service levels we have all come to expect.

Me too Bob. Disappointed in the pass margin though; hard to understand really after all the past history about no term for the levy and lack of community involvement that we see this result. I am told many involved, past commissioners did not vote at all. Disgraceful .
