I want to congratulate Kate Hansen on her election to the Orcas fire commission. I also want to thank the many Orcas voters who supported me.
Now all of us need to unite behind Kate, Randy Gaylord, and Brian Ehrmantraut, who will make up the new majority on the OIFR board.
Let’s all work together to develop a new fire levy, with input from the public, that will restore OIFR to its deserved status as the best in our state.

Thank you, Toni, for stepping up and running. I am grateful every time there is more than one candidate for a seat. It makes the whole voting process more democratic. I hope you will continue to be involved as the new BOFC gets rolling. You have done a great deal of research into the issues facing the department and it would be helpful to hear your thoughts on next steps.
Toni – thanks for leaping into this! I only wish we had been able to elect both you and Kate at the same time!
