Orcas Island Primary Care has chosen to terminate a very well loved family practice physician, Dr. Jennifer Simpson-Manske at a time when there are NO other family practice physicians on-island accepting new clients. The decision to terminate Dr. Manske was made by Island Hospital.
On June 1st, Dr. Manske’s patients received a email requesting that they reschedule with one of three Physician Assistants. Many folks feel that our health care is possibly being dictated by Island Hospital’s bottom line.
There will be an Orcas Health Island Health Care Board Meeting at the Orcas Library on June 24 at 5:00 pm. We encourage as many people as possible to attend on behalf of Dr. Manske and to demand the health care that we pay for.
Island Hospital will be meeting with our Orcas Superintendent and Orcas Commissioners prior to our Board meeting and we are asking that Island Hospital send a representative to our on-island meeting.
PLEASE LET US SHOW OUR SUPPORT AT THE BOARD MEETING AND GET DR. MANSKE BACK ASAP.
