— from Tony Ghazel —
I just talked to the Elections Department and they are getting several calls regarding the ballots that we just received.
Here is the scoop: Vote for one US senator, one US Representative, one Legislative District Position 1 and one Court of Appeals Judge candidate and the largest two vote getters of these will move on to the general election.
For the Legislative District Position 2 office, and since there is only one candidate, that candidate will also move on to the general election.
Since the San Juan County Prosecuting Attorney election is a partisan election, they will also both move on to the general election.
As far as the District Court Judge and the San Juan County Sheriff races, these positions have just two candidates so they will move on to the general election and they are not required to be in the primary.
I thought that this might help the voters.

Please vote! If we didn’t already know it before 2016, we learned that year that elections really do have consequences. Exercise your right to vote so that it isn’t some day taken away.
Thanks for helping end a heated discussion about whiy certain candidates were on the ballot and why not others. It does help voters. And as David Turnoy said: VOTE!!!!!
Didn’t Barak Obama say “Elections have consequences”?
Thanks for sharing this information Tony. All voters are allowed to vote in all races shown on the ballot. Even when one or two candidates are in a race, your vote matters!
