— from Tony Suruda —
I took my dogs to the off leash area on Sunday afternoon December 3rd. When we arrived there were twelve dogs in the enclosed area. Eleven were Golden Retrievers and one was a Labrador Retriever.
This indicates a severe lack of diversity.
The dogs were all well behaved. I have nothing against retrievers but I wouldn’t want my sister to marry one. I encourage owners of other breeds to bring their dogs to the Orcas Off Leash Area.

Some days there are lots of Aussies or suddenly there is a Poodle park. Enjoy.Luv our new park. Thank you SJC
SORRY WE MISSED THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER GATHERING. OUDIN aka ODIE WOULD HAVE LOVED THAT. Sadly we walked in a different area!
OMG – sorry, we’re sorry – this is all a part of the new, global “pet neutrality” movement, where it’s ordained that each and every pet among us shall be equal. looks like retrievers are Island favorites?
This was a wonderful celebration of those beautiful golden retrievers 1 year old birthdays! They were all siblings coming to reunite with their parents to celebrate their special day. They were all extremely friendly and the event lasted no more than a hour or so. It really was a fun time for all of us.
All pets are wonderful companions!
Lack of diversity by design: 1 year Birthday party for Stella and Harley’s pups, beautiful purebred Golden Retrievers.

The park is fabulous! Thanks to those who worked hard to make it such a great canine meeting place.
