The Art Auction at the Senior Center was a success! It was a terrific evening of honoring art, food, friends, and community. We would like to thank all the generous artists and donors who contributed the many beautiful art pieces that will now adorn many homes on Orcas Island and beyond! Thank you to everyone who attended and for your generosity towards the Senior Center. We couldn’t have done this without the terrific support of volunteers who contributed many hours before and during the event.

Thank you, Christina Orchid, the food was spectacular, and gratitude to the many people who contributed a myriad of delicious desserts. Thanks to Darvill’s for helping with ticket sales and to the Sounder and Orcas Issues for the strong publicity support. Thanks to Mark Padbury for his humor and great energy as the auctioneer, Paris Wilson and Emy Carter (Almost Classical), and Skye Hovelman for their creative music, and for the excellent support from the Trading Company and Island Market.

Thank you to Jackie Kempfer and Sue Lamb for their countless hours of dreaming this up and making it happen. Much gratitude to San Juan Vineyards and Country Corner for their generous contribution of wine and to Harmony Chai for the tasty chai.

We have a monthly revolving art show at the Senior Center, so drop by and say hello. We’ll see you at the next Senior Center event as we redefine the place and what happens here for people of all ages!
