Celebrate the opening of the 2012-2013 Metropolitan Opera Season with an Opening of the Opera champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception during the interludes of Donizetti’s  L’Elisir d’Amore on October 14 starting at 1 p.m. at Orcas Center.

This is not just about singing – with The Met: Live in HD you will be transported back stage, behind the scenes, you will meet the stars and the production teams. Come experience this enthralling art form for yourself, streamed live to our Orcas Center, and enjoy this special reception while you are at the theater.

What better season opener than Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore. The great diva Anna Netrebko and Matthew Polenzani staring  in Bartlett Sher’s new production of one of the greatest comic gems in opera.  Netrebko is the fickle Adina and Plienzani is her besotted Nemorino. Mariusz Kwiecien (Don Giovanni) is the blustery Sergeant Belcore and Ambrogio Maestri is Dulcamara, the loveable quack and dispenser of the elixir. Maurizio Benini conducts.
