On January 25, 2013, Leadership San Juan Islands (LSJI) welcomed Cohort IX to Orcas Island for a two-day retreat session.  Heartwood, the Center for Inspired Living in Eastsound, hosted the Use of Self Retreat, and Smuggler’s Inn hosted the overnight guests.  The curriculum is built upon the concept that effective leadership and facilitation emerge from an understanding of the self in relation to others. Participants were immersed in a variety of techniques to develop clarity and confidence in their abilities to work together as steward-leaders. Curriculum leads over the two days included Tara Dalton, Liz Illg, Gretchen Krampf, Jim Hooper, and Linda Lyshall.  Support staff-alumni were Michael Greenburg, Morgan Meadows, and Kim Skarda.   With the current photo, LSJI introduces you to all 16 community leaders, from Lopez Island, Orcas Island, and San Juan Island.

A special note of appreciation goes to all those who have sponsored a participant or supported the success of the program, from its inception to the present.
