|||. FROM THE OFFICE OF. U.S. REP. RICK LARSEN |||
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Rick Larsen released the following statement:
“The recent targeted Israeli attack on Iran was not indiscriminate or random. Israel has a right to self-defense and, with Trump administration’s faltering efforts at negotiations with Iran, the country determined it needed to act to protect its people. The United States should stand with Israel at this time.
“Iran understands that Israel can demonstrate its will to defend itself. I now call on both countries to take steps to de-escalate and for the United States and Iran to continue negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, preferably involving the international community which previously resulted in strict limitations on the Iranians.”

Everything about what Larsen says is out of context… with reality. The problems with Iran started with the 1953 U.S. (CIA orchestrated) overthrow of a democratically elected government, and installing a ruthless dictator that bowed to the whims of the U.S. government.
Israel is an apartheid state on stolen land committing genocide and ethnic cleansing against the muslim population in a continued long-term attempt to promote the Greater Israel Project. Israel, as well as it’s backers, including the U.S. and gr. Britain, a pariah state that are in violation of multiple international rulings. The Palestinians, under international law, have every right, including the use of violence, to resist the occupation.

How timely– After attacking Iran in an illegal and unprovoked manner for years, Israel starts a war with Iran in the middle of peace negotiations. No different than our lead in to Iraq, Netanyahu, “We have found weapons of mass destruction,” has been trying hard to get the U.S. “more” involved. And no doubt we will… this being a known part of our foreign policy design for years.
Israel’s current actions in Iran are a continuation of its pattern of unilateral militarism in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. Rick Larsen is one of the many members of the White House who are influenced by money from, and are given talking points that come straight from the Israeli lobby, talking points with absolutely no validity that enforce a false narrative when describing what’s happening in the Middle East today, (of what’s been happening there for many years).
There are two things you can count on at this point in time–
1) U.S. mainstream media will launch an aggressive “Iran attacked Israel in an unprovoked way.”
2) There will be a black flag operation by the CIA or the Massad designed to foment public anger against Iran.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, 25 March 2025–
“US intelligence assessed just weeks ago that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon. The IC [Intelligence Community] continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003. The IC is monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program.”

United Nations Security Council 6/12/25– Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General – on Israeli strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran
Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General
“The Secretary-General condemns any military escalation in the Middle East. He is particularly concerned by Israeli attacks on nuclear installations in Iran while talks between Iran and the United States on the status of Iran’s nuclear programme are underway.”

The Intercept 3/02/15– Benjamin Netanyahu’s Long History of Crying Wolf About Iran’s Nuclear Weapons
“The Israeli Prime Minister is expected to warn the U.S. Congress an Iranian bomb is imminent — just as he warned in 1992, 1995, 2002, 2009, and 2012.”

Counterpunch 6/13/25– The Illegal Attack on Iran
“Israel’s consistent attacks on Iran since 2023 have all been illegal, violations of the United Nations Charter (1945). Iran is a member state of the United Nations and is therefore a sovereign state in the international order. If Israel had a problem with Iran, there are many mechanisms mandated by international law that permit Israel to bring complaints against Iran.”
“Allegations that Iran is building a nuclear weapon, which are constantly raised by the United States, the European Union, and Israel, have been fully investigated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and found to be unfounded.”
“Over the past decades, Iran has called for the establishment of a Middle East Nuclear Free Zone, a strange idea coming from a country accused of wanting to build a nuclear weapon. But this idea of the nuclear free zone has been rejected by the West, largely to protect Israel, which has an illegal nuclear weapons programme.”

Prof. Avi Shlaim- Israeli-British historian, author, and Prof. Emeritus at Oxford Univ.–
“Iran has never attacked a neighbor, Israel has repeatedly attacked its neighbors.
Iran signed the non proliferation treaty, Israel has refused to sign.
Iran submits to inspection, but by the International Nuclear Energy Agency, Israel refuses to submit.
Iran has no nuclear weapons, Israel has between 75 and 400 nuclear weapons.
So Israel poses an existential threat to Iran.”
For the last 40 years Israel has conducted a systematic campaign of disinformation about Iran.”

And lest we forget, the U.S. current strategic goals for the Middle East– In a conversation between former CIA White House Advisor Ray McGovern and Gen. Wesley Clark shortly after 9/11–
Ray McGovern: “I asked him if we are we still going to war with Iraq, and he said, “Oh it’s worse than that, I just got this down from upstairs, (meaning the Sec. of Def. Off.) today, and he said, this is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out 7even countries in 5 years. Starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and finishing off Iran.”

Ray McGovern is a former Central Intelligence Agency officer, was a CIA analyst from 1963 to 1990, and in the 1980s chaired National Intelligence Estimates and participated in preparing the President’s Daily Brief.
I’ve loved seeing the Iranians cheering for Israel and the elimination of this authoritarian, misogynist, Islamic regime in videos online. Iranian people and women in particular have lived in misery at the hands of the Islamic Mullah regime’s morality police for decades. I hope this is freedom from tyranny for Iranian women. “Woman, Life, Freedom”!!
I would like to see the same. But if you think what the U.S. and Israel has in store for Iran is anything remotely connected to human rights and freedom… you’ve not been paying attention to what’s been going on in the Middle East. In fact what has taken place in Iran in the past 50 years IS the direct result of U.S. intervention.
