Saturday, September 23, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Random Howse
— from Anita Orne —
JP and the OK Rhythm Boys will be playing at Random Howse on Saturday, September 23, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. JP, Gordon, and Anita will once more be bringing their ever-popular blend of fiddle, guitar, bass, and voice (and, sometimes, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, and, of course, saw) to Eastsound’s favorite Thai restaurant/bar.
They’ll be playing favorites, old and new: swing, originals, jazz standards, waltzes, hoe-downs, hits of the 50s and 60s, anything that catches their fancy and can be done with a fiddle, some ok rhythm, and three voices.
There will be a couple of surprise guests jumping in for a few songs, too. How fun.
No cover, but there will be tip jars – the performers are compensated by your generous donations therein, so bring some extra cash and they will be so grateful, and will play so much better.
Reservations recommended – 360-376-1111. To see and hear the band in action, check out their web site, www.jpandtheokrhythmboys.com, or their Facebook page.
